UW Bothell Starts Up a Biotech Institute

The University of Washington Bothell said it's creating a Biotechnology and Biomedical Technology Institute to serve as a forum for the biotech industry in Bothell. The BBTI got started by working with the city of Bothell and local businesses to develop a "Bothell Biomedical Manufacturing Corridor," which was designated an Innovation Partnership Zone by the state. According to Gov. Chris Gregoire's office, the areas "receive special access to state funding and resources that otherwise might not have been available."
